Iran Reports Missile Test, Drawing Sharp U.S. Response (story)

Iran really knows how to push America’s button, and this after a day of warnings. They are dominating this game even if they are isolated and short stacked. For some reason, they’re bluffs rarely get called.

The Lede: Iran Gets the World’s Attention (story)

I like that name for the new missile they using “Shahab” which means “Shooting Star”. That’s just so good. Well, it’s already a star on the international diplomatic scene, Go Shahab!

Oil Prices Rebound on Iran Missile Tests (story)

Amazing how just about anything influences the price oil. I bet if the Dominican Republic decides to introduce a new stamp series… prices of oil will be affected!

Air Force Said to Reopen Bidding on Tanker Contract (story)

They should outsource this contract bidding to Sotheby or Christie’s… far more experience and a bit less time-consuming.

6 Killed in Attack on U.S. Consulate in Turkey (story)

“Three policemen were martyred and three attackers were killed,” according to the Istanbul governor… I’m pretty sure the other side is reporting this vice versa. Another man’s … you know the saying. Anyways, still quite a random act this, sad.

Cavendish Earns His First Tour Victory (story)

What a boring stage! Only exciting thing was that one of the escapees managed to stay out of the peloton’s reach right up to 100 yards from the finish.

Skepticism Over Obama Speech in Berlin (story)

Not sure what the deal is here. So Merkel is ‘uneasy’ over Obama speaking in front of the Brandenburg Gate for political reason. Then the article goes on about how the mayor of Berlin doesn’t care where the speech is held and how both Reagan and Clinton held speeches at that very location…

Congress Feeling Pressure for Action on Oil Prices (story)

OMG, they are starting to feel some pressure. People been screaming for months, I’m confused what could have triggered this sudden awareness.

Emerging Nations Join G-8 on Climate Goal (story)

They agreed on long-range emission cuts, sigh. We need plans for 2010, not 2050 for crying out loud. Someone really has to stand up and say, this is how we gonna do it, and I want everyone to make a serious effort. If you don’t we will stigmatize you, now get moving.

Plan to Deter Times-Tower Climbers (story)

“Several hours elapsed during which the police appeared to alternate between trying to go after the man and waiting for him to surrender.” Haha!

Well: Should Doctors Nag Overweight Patients? (story)

“Overweight people already know they are overweight. So should doctors keep nagging them to lose pounds?”… now that a statement. That’s like telling a kid he can’t read, of course he knows he can’t read. That DOESN’T mean you stop trying to resolve the situation. No one wants doctors to nag! They need to bring solution to the table, leave the nagging to friends and families.

Afghan Bombing Sends Stark Message to India (story)

Bit confused here, first line of the story actually talks about India sending a message to Afghanistan that they are not deterred by this recent attack. Whatever the case, they both gonna be at it for a while.

Two Concerns for Olympics: Air and Access (story)

I know smog is a big issue, but from what I’ve seen is that if you make a serious effort, smog can fairly dissipate. Kinda like how on weekends air quality goes up significantly. I can’t imagine the Chinese not willing to cut back on personal pollution, especially if they are encouraged to do so by the government.

Abuses Are Found in Online Sales of Medication (story)

You are kidding! Duh.

Obama Donors Aren’t Rushing to Aid Clinton (story)

My point of view, if you run up a debt trying to win an election. Don’t hope on the public to help your sorry arse if it didn’t go the way you planned it. Isn’t running up a debt exactly what Democrats been blaming Republicans for??

Two Jump to Death Trying to Flee Fire (story)

A choice I never wanna have to make… so scary.
